Authentic Ancient Roman Ring - Bronze - 3rd. Century A.D.
This is an authentic Roman ring made of bronze.
This ring has been dated to around the third century A.D. thus making it around 1700 years old!
It shows a "hobnail" or "flower" design on the bezel and has nicely decorated bands.
It is in very good, unrestored condition and was unearthed at a dig site in the Balkan, Eastern Europe, an area where the Romans often went to war to subdue the East Celts.
Holding this artifact in one's hands, one can almost feel the power and might of the Roman Empire!
Everybody can go to the shopping mall and simply pick a new piece of jewelry out of enormous stocks of freshly made items but how many of you have ever given (or gotten!) a present to a near or dear one with such history embedded into it, such character, the patina of 1700 years battling the elements and so unique that there is truly only ONE of it in the world?
Imagine that 1700 years ago, a husband had this ring commissioned and gave it to his beloved wife...
Wouldn't it be great if some 1700 years later, this process would be repeated?
The ring has a diameter of some 18 mm which corresponds to a US size 8 and weighs 3.47 grams.
We qualify this ring as medium restored (maintaining its original patina) and highly wearable. Possibly your local jeweler could resize it to make it fit perfectly.
PLEASE NOTE:
